Osvaldo Lopez Killed in Big Spring Pedestrian Accident on U.S. Highway 87

Big Spring, Texas (January 20, 2021) – A man was struck and killed by a vehicle Friday night in Big Spring, according to police.

The deadly accident happened around 9:24 p.m., January 15, in the 3600 block of South U.S. Highway 87.

Police said Osvaldo Lopez, 21, of Brownsville, was riding in a car driven by Ismael Moreno when they got into an argument.

Moreno pulled over to the side of the road, and Lopez got out of the car. He ran across the highway and was hit by a truck.

Lopez was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers said Moreno had been driving while intoxicated and was arrested and charged.

The police are investigating the crash.
