Pablo Beltran Killed in Titus County Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 271

Titus County, Texas (July 5, 2020) – Four people were killed in a head-on collision Friday evening in Titus County, just north of the Camp County line, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The fatal crash happened at about 5:10 p.m. on July 3, on U.S. Highway 271.

DPS said a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe was heading northbound on the highway when the driver lost control, crossed over into the southbound lanes, and collided with a 2013 Nissan Quest.

The Chevrolet driver, Pablo Beltran, 47, of Mt. Pleasant, and a passenger were declared dead at the scene. Another passenger, 52-year-old Raul Gonzalez, was ejected and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The Nissan driver, Michelle Stroh, 37, of Carrollton, and a male juvenile passenger were taken to a local hospital where they later died. Two other passengers, a boy and a girl were taken to Children’s Medical Center in Dallas with serious injuries. Another passenger, 37-year-old Austin Stroh, was taken to a Tyler hospital with serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
