Paul Briggs Killed in Cibolo Two-Vehicle Crash on IH-10 near FM 465

Cibolo, Texas – One person was killed on New Year’s Day in a two-vehicle crash in Cibolo, according to a local news source.

The fatal crash happened on January 1, on the eastbound lanes of IH-10 near FM 465.

According to the report, 59-year-old Paul Anthony Briggs of West Columbia, Texas, lost control of his vehicle, struck the median, and re-entered traffic while attempting to regain control. His vehicle came to rest in the outside lane, where it was subsequently struck by an oncoming 18-wheeler.

Briggs was killed in the crash.

Officers said alcohol intoxication was not a factor in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
