Dennis Keller Killed in Kerrville Two-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 10

Kerrville, Texas (February 5, 2022) – One person was killed, and another was critically injured Thursday night in a two-vehicle crash in Kerrville, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around 9:29 p.m., February 3, on Interstate 10 near mile marker 510.

Police said a tractor-trailer was traveling westbound on the interstate when the driver tried to slow down due to standstill traffic amid the icy road conditions. The tractor-trailer flipped on its side, slid, and collided with a Ford F-350 pickup truck that was stopped due to traffic.

The Ford driver, Dennis Nelson Keller, 60, of Kerrville, and his 43-year-old passenger were taken to Peterson Regional Medical Center in Kerrville, where Keller later died while the passenger was listed in critical condition.

The icy road conditions were a major contributing factor to the crash.

The police are investigating the crash.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, 18-wheeler, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation
