One Killed in Austin Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 35 near 51st Street

Austin, Texas (December 18, 2022) – A person was fatally hit by multiple cars Saturday afternoon in Austin, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened just after 5:30 p.m., December 17, on Interstate 35 near 51st Street.

Police said a pedestrian was struck by several cars in the southbound lanes of the interstate.

The victim was killed in the crash. Their identity has not been released.

Everyone involved cooperated with the police.

The crash closed the southbound lanes for several hours.

No further details were provided.

The police are investigating the crash.
