One Killed in SW Houston Pedestrian Accident on Westheimer Road near Fountain View

Houston, Texas (October 26, 2020) – A person was killed in a pedestrian accident on Monday in the Galleria-area of Houston, according to deputies.

The deadly accident happened around 2:56 a.m., on Westheimer Road near Fountain View.

Deputies said the driver of a white Toyota Camry was traveling at a high rate of speed and was trying to beat a red light when he hit a pedestrian who was crossing the street in a crosswalk.

The impact threw the victim over 100 feet in the air, and was killed in the crash.

The driver fled the scene and was found a mile away from the scene. He showed signs of intoxication. He has been charged with failure to stop and render aid and might also be charged with intoxication manslaughter.

The authorities are investigating the crash.
