Maria Saucedo, David Enriquez Killed in Car Crash on US 84 in Hockley County

Maria Ballesteros Saucedo and David Enriquez Killed in Hockley County Two-Vehicle Crash on US 84

Hockley County, Texas (April 30, 2023) – Two people were killed, and another was injured Saturday morning following a two-vehicle crash in Hockley County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The fatal crash happened just after 2:00 a.m., April 29, on U.S. Highway 84 just Northwest of Farm to Market Road 168, half a mile east of Anton.

DPS said a 2023 Kenworth towing a 2014 Walker semi-truck collided with a 2012 Ford-150 pickup truck.

The pickup truck driver, Maria Ballesteros Saucedo, 23, of Littlefield, was taken to Lamb Healthcare Center with serious injuries, where he later died.

A passenger in the pickup truck, David Enriquez, 26, also of Littlefield, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Saucedo and Enriquez were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.

The tow truck driver, Jennifer Hernandez, 53, of Lubbock, was taken to the Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock with non-incapacitating injuries.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
