Woman Killed in Houston Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 45

Houston, Texas (March 8, 2019) – A woman was fatally hit by a vehicle on Thursday night in Houston, according to the HPD.
The incident occurred at about 10 p.m. Thursday, March 7 on Interstate 45 near East Rittenhouse.
A preliminary investigation showed that a woman who was possibly chasing a loose dog ran across the main lanes of the freeway and was hit.
The victim died in the crash.
The motorist involved remained at the scene.
HPD said intoxication and speed do not appear to have been factors in the collision.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
