Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Lubbock Hit-and-Run at 19th Street and Avenue S; Shawn Chapman Arrested

Lubbock, Texas (February 9, 2023) – A pedestrian was seriously injured Tuesday evening in a hit-and-run accident in Lubbock, according to the police.

The accident happened around 7:51 p.m., February 7, in the area of 19th Street and Avenue S.

Police said Shawn Chapman, 36, struck a pedestrian and then fled the scene.

The pedestrian was taken to University Medical Center with a moderate injury.

Chapman was later arrested and has been charged with Fail to Render Aid and Driving While License Suspended.

Further details were not available.

The police are investigating the crash.
