Police Officer and 2 Others Injured in Crash on Northwest Loop 323 in Tyler

Police Officer, Woman and Motorcyclist Injured in Tyler Crash on Northwest Loop 323

Tyler, Texas (August 22, 2020) – Three people, including a Tyler police officer, were injured Thursday night in a traffic collision in Tyler, according to police.

The crash happened at about 10:13 p.m., August 20, in the 3000 block of W Northwest Loop 323.

Police said a woman was driving a Chevy Malibu at a high rate of speed when she rear-ended a Tyler PD patrol car. After the crash, the woman tried to abruptly turn into the inside lanes, and she struck a motorcyclist.

The woman was taken to UT Health East Texas in serious condition.

The officer was taken to UT Health with minor injuries.

The motorcyclist was treated and released at the scene.

The authorities are investigating the crash.
