Police Officer Struck by Car on U.S. 287 in Fort Worth

Police Officer Seriously Injured in Fort Worth Pedestrian Accident on U.S. 287

Fort Worth, Texas (November 8, 2019) – A Fort Worth police officer was struck by a car Friday morning in Fort Worth, according to officials.

The accident took place around 2:45 a.m. on northbound U.S. 287 service road near the Harmon Road exit.

Police said the officer was putting out cones and flares when a vehicle struck the officer and her patrol car.

The driver fled the scene on foot but was later arrested and taken into custody.

The officer was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

An investigation is underway.
