Ramon Nolasco Killed in North Austin Bicycle Accident on Interstate 35

Austin, Texas (April 15, 2023) – The bicyclist who was killed on Wednesday in a hit-and-run accident in North Austin has been identified as Ramon Clemente Nolasco, 62, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened around 7:21 p.m., April 12, in the 9000 block of N IH 35 Service Road Southbound.

Police said Nolasco was riding his bicycle northbound along the sidewalk when a black 4-door GMC Yukon pulled out of a private driveway and hit him.

The driver fled the scene after the accident.

Nolasco was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

Video surveillance shows two suspects were in the vehicle at the time of the crash. The driver was described as a heavy-set Hispanic male with thick, curly, black hair and was last seen wearing a construction reflective vest. The passenger was described as a heavy-set Hispanic male and was last seen wearing a construction reflective vest. Officers are looking for both suspects.

The police are investigating the crash. Anyone with any information is asked to call APD’s Vehicular Homicide unit at 512-974-8111.
