Rene Almenares-Durand Killed in Train Crash at US 54 and FM 807 in Dallam County

Dallam County, Texas – One person was killed Tuesday afternoon in a train crash in Conlen, Dallam County, according to the DPS.

The fatal crash happened on March 26, at the intersection of US 54 and FM 807.

DPS said Rene Almenares-Durand, 48, of Dodge City, Kansas, was driving a 2012 Freightliner when he failed to yield the right of way at a train crossing and was hit by the train

Almenares-Durand was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash closed FM 807.

The Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash.
