Rex Bryan, Carrie Wilburn, Jerri Moore and 5 Others Injured in Jasper County Car Accident at U.S. Highway 190 and FM 777
Jasper County, Texas (January 30, 2019) – Eight people were injured Sunday evening in a traffic accident involving three vehicles in Jasper County, according to a local news source.
The crash was reported at around 4:30 p.m. Sunday, January 27 near the intersection of U.S. Highway 190 and FM 777.
As per the report, a 2007 Chrysler SUV driven by Carrie Wilburn, 45, of Colmesneil, was heading eastbound on Highway 190 while a 2001 Dodge Ram pickup operated by Rex Bryan, 67, of Jasper, was traveling northbound on FM 777.
After Bryan stopped at the stop sign, he pulled out into the path of the Chrysler SUV and hit it in the back-right quarter panel.
The force of the impact caused the Chrysler to veer off the road and the Dodge pickup spun into the westbound traffic lane of Highway 190, where it was hit by a 2014 Dodge Durango SUV driven by Jerri Moore, 32, of Orange.
Bryan sustained major injuries and was airlifted to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
Wilburn and her 11-year-old daughter were taken by ground ambulance to Jasper Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The two other people who were in the Chrysler were uninjured.
Moore and all four of her passengers suffered non-life threatening injuries and were also transported to Jasper Memorial Hospital. Authorities said one of her passengers was her 3-year-old son, who was properly secured in his child safety seat.
The crash remains under investigation.
