Colton Gibbs Killed in Andrews County Two-Vehicle Crash on FM 1788

Andrews County, Texas (March 23, 2021) – According to the Texas DPS, two people were killed in a head-on collision early Sunday morning in Andrews County.

The fatal crash occurred around 3:48 a.m., March 21, on FM 1788, 11 miles east of Andrews.

According to a preliminary investigation, Colton Gibbs, 30, of Gladewater, Texas, was driving a 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 southbound on the highway while a 2017 Dodge Ram 2500 driven by Francisco Del Hierro, 28, of Andrews, was traveling northbound.

For unknown reasons, the Dodge Ram 2500 entered the southbound lane and crashed head-on into the Dodge Ram 1500.

Both Gibbs and Del Hierro were pronounced dead at the scene.

Del Hierro was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The troopers are investigating the crash.
