Ronald Archer Killed in Potter County Motorcycle Crash on Patrick Pass at Sharman Loop

Potter County, Texas (July 7, 2021) – One person was killed and another was seriously injured on Saturday after a motorcycle and a bicycle collided in Potter County, according to the Texas DPS.

The deadly accident happened around 8:55 a.m., on July 3, at the intersection of Patrick Pass and Sharman Loop.

DPS said a motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Patrick Pass while a bicycle was traveling westbound on Patrick Pass. The motorcyclist failed to yield right of way to oncoming traffic and turned left onto Sharman Loop.

The bicycle then crashed into the motorcycle and the impact ejected both riders.

The motorcyclist, 79-year-old Ronald Archer, was taken to the hospital where he later died. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The bicyclist was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. They were wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

The authorities are investigating the crash.
