Ruriko Denison Dies Days after Car Crashes into Home on Junction Avenue in Northeast El Paso

Ruriko Denison Killed after Car Crashes into Northeast El Paso Home on Junction Avenue near Kenworthy Street

El Paso, Texas (December 28, 2019) – The elderly woman who was critically injured after a car crashed into her home early Monday morning in Northeast El Paso has died, according to the authorities.

The crash happened just after 1:00 a.m. December 23, in the 4700 block of Junction Avenue near Kenworthy Street.

Police said Margaret Cantu, 41, was speeding southbound on Kenworthy Street when she lost control of her SUV and crashed into a home. 87-year-old Ruriko Denison was asleep in her bedroom when Cantu crashed into her home.

Denison was rushed to University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries where she later died.

Cantu was arrested and has been charged with Intoxication Assault and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility under a $250,000 bond.

An investigation is ongoing.
