Samuel Pennington Killed in Gaines County Two-Vehicle Crash on U.S. Highway 82

Gaines County, Texas (August 21, 2021) – According to Texas DPS, two drivers were killed in a wrong-way crash Wednesday morning in Gaines County.

The fatal crash happened just after 7:37 a.m., on August 18, on U.S. Highway 82, just six miles west of Seminole.

DPS said Wilma Delk, 51, of Andrews, was driving a Chevrolet Silverado westbound in the eastbound lane of the highway when she collided head-on into an eastbound Jeep Wrangler driven by Samuel Pennington, 62, of Seminole.

Both Delk and Pennington were pronounced dead at the scene. They were not wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
