Saveion Lewis Killed in Houston Motorcycle Crash on Eastex Freeway near Hooper

Houston, Texas (June 19, 2022) – One person was killed, and two others were injured on Saturday in a motorcycle crash in Houston, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash happened on June 18, on the Eastex Freeway near Hooper.

Authorities said Saveion Lewis was riding a 2014 black Kawasaki Ninja in the southbound lane of the freeway while a woman was driving a white Toyota next to him.

Lewis was riding at a high rate of speed and struck the back left corner of the Toyota. 

The force of the impact propelled Lewis forward, and he hit a concrete wall barrier while the Toyota continued until it hit a concrete wall on the eastbound side and rotated counterclockwise until it came to an uncontrolled stop on the shoulder.

Lewis was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Toyota driver and her juvenile passenger were taken to Kingwood Medical with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division is investigating the crash.
