Woman Killed in Houston Pedestrian Accident on Westheimer near Stoney Brook; Nubia Yasmineth Sibrian Arrested

Houston, Texas (December 22, 2020) – A woman was fatally hit by a car early Friday morning in West Houston, according to police.

The deadly accident happened around 1:00 a.m., December 18, in the 7800 block of Westheimer Road near Stoney Brook.

Police said the woman was attempting to cross the highway, outside of a crosswalk, when she was hit by an eastbound black Volkswagen Jetta driven by Nubia Yasmineth Sibrian, 27.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been released.

Sibrian remained at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. She has been charged with driving while intoxicated.

The police are investigating the crash.

In Texas, a driver is legally intoxicated after consuming alcohol if their blood alcohol content (BAC) is .08% or higher. A driver is also considered intoxicated if they don’t have the normal use of their mental or physical faculties by reason of the introduction of alcohol.
