Scooter Rider Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on Chimney Rock Road in Houston

Person Killed in Houston Hit-and-Run Scooter Accident on Chimney Rock Road at Westheimer Road

Houston, Texas (August 9, 2020) – According to Houston police, a scooter rider was killed in a hit-and-run crash early Sunday morning in Houston.

The deadly accident happened at about 12:30 a.m., at the intersection of Westheimer Road and Chimney Rock Road.

Police said the young male was riding his scooter through the crosswalk at the intersection when he was struck by a vehicle that was traveling eastbound on Westheimer Road and was attempting to turn southbound onto Chimney Rock Road.

The victim was also struck by another vehicle that was traveling behind the first vehicle.

Both vehicles fled the scene after the accident.

The victim was declared dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
