Police said a pickup truck was traveling westbound on the highway when it crossed into the eastbound lanes and struck a guardrail and another vehicle. It then rolled over, ejecting the driver.

The second vehicle was then hit by another vehicle.

The pickup driver and a passenger in the second vehicle were taken to Hendrick Medical Center. They were later airlifted to a Fort Worth hospital for further treatment.

Several other people were taken to the hospital by private vehicle.

Investigators said alcohol was a possible factor in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.

We hope the injured victims recover quickly.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons for driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
