Ted Wesson Killed in Odessa Two-Vehicle Crash on Loop 338 at University

Odessa, Texas (June 17, 2021) – One person was killed, and another was injured Tuesday night in a two-vehicle crash in Odessa, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around midnight, June 15, on Loop 338 at University.

DPS said a Nissan was traveling southbound on Loop 338 while a Dodge Ram 5500 was traveling behind it.

The Nissan tried to make a U-turn on the overpass and was struck by the Ram.

The Nissan driver, Ted Wesson, 33, of Odessa, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger in the Nissan was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The Ram driver was uninjured in the crash.

None of the three people involved in the crash were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation
