Martina Miranda-Barajas Killed in El Paso Pedestrian Accident at Piedras and Fort Boulevard

El Paso, Texas (July 27, 2022) – A woman was fatally hit by a vehicle Friday night in central El Paso, according to the authorities.

The deadly accident happened around 11:37 p.m., July 22, at the intersection of Piedras and Fort Boulevard.

Authorities said a Toyota Tacoma driven by 85-year-old Larry Olsen was heading eastbound on Fort Boulevard and was stopped at a red light. 

57-year-old Martina Miranda-Barajas, of Ciudad Juarez, was walking on Fort Boulevard and was crossing Piedras when she was struck by the Tacoma as it was turning left from Fort Boulevard onto Piedras.

Miranda-Barajas was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead on Monday, July 25.

Olsen remained at the scene after the accident.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
