Teen Seriously Injured in Head-On Crash with Marble Falls ISD Bus on FM 1431

17-Year-Old Girl Seriously Injured in Marble Falls Bus Crash on FM 1431

Marble Falls, Texas (May 30, 2019) – A teenager was hospitalized following a head-on collision with a school bus on Wednesday morning near Marble Falls, according to the authorities.
The collision happened at about 7 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, on FM 1431, just east of Marble Falls.
DPS said a 17-year-old Cedar Park girl was driving east on FM 1431 when she drifted off the side of the roadway for unknown reasons. The girl then overcorrected and drifted into the path of oncoming traffic, colliding with a westbound Marble Falls ISD bus.
There were eleven children on board the bus at the time. The bus reportedly caught fire but was extinguished by the driver. The bus occupants were not seriously injured but the teenage driver was transported to a hospital with critical injuries.
The DPS is investigating the incident.
