22-Month-Old Boy Killed in Harris County Crash on Frontage Road near Woodforest Boulevard

Harris County, Texas (August 6, 2022) – A 22-month-old toddler was killed after a cement truck fell off an overpass and landed on top of another vehicle Friday afternoon in east Harris County, according to a local news source.

The tragic wreck took place at the intersection of Frontage Road near Woodforest Boulevard headed southbound off East Beltway 8.

As per the report, the cement truck was traveling in the main lanes of Beltway 8 when the driver, a 36-year-old woman, lost control of the vehicle due to slick road conditions.

The truck reportedly fell completely over the bridge and landed on top of a Ford Expedition carrying a family of four inside.

A 54-year-old grandmother, her 22-year-old daughter, and the daughter’s 22-month-old boy-girl twins were in the Ford Expedition. Three occupants were able to get out, but the boy twin was not able to be freed until hours after.

The 22-month-old boy was pronounced dead at the scene. The other occupants were transported to a hospital with minor injuries.

The cement truck driver sustained minor injuries but declined medical aid. The driver was not intoxicated at the time of the crash.

This crash remains under investigation. Additional information is not available at this time.
