Turner Hartsfield, Johnnie Wagstaff Injured in Truck Crash on Highway 63 near Jasper

Turner Hartsfield and Johnnie Wagstaff Injured in Jasper Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 63 at CR 273

Jasper, Texas (October 11, 2021) – Two people were injured Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle crash just east of Jasper, according to the Texas DPS.

The crash happened just after 7:00 a.m., on October 6, in the area of Highway 63 and County Road 273.

DPS said a 1999 Freightliner was traveling eastbound on the highway while a 2007 Dodge Ram pickup truck was traveling northbound on CR 273.

The Dodge turned onto Highway 63 and into the path of the Freightliner, resulting in a collision.

The Freightliner overturned on the highway after the crash.

The Freightliner driver, Turner Hartsfield, 54, and the Dodge driver, Johnnie Wagstaff, 82, both of Jasper, were taken to Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The crash remains under investigation.
