San Antonio, Texas – A woman and her 5-year-old son were killed Wednesday evening in a pedestrian accident in San Antonio’s Northwest Side, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened around 8:30 p.m., April 3, on Stone Oak Parkway near U.S. Highway 281.

Police said Marlon Daniels, 56, was speeding when he jumped a curb, crashed into a utility pole, and hit Vanessa Araceli Ramos, 39, and 5-year-old Solumen Edge Lopez, who were walking in a designated crosswalk.

Ramos and Lopez were pronounced dead at the scene.

Daniels was arrested and charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter. He was being held at the Bexar County Jail on a combined $400,000 bond.

The police are investigating the crash.
