Veronica Rivera Cortez Critically Injured in Fort Worth Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident on North Main Street

Fort Worth, Texas (June 12, 2020) – A woman was critically injured Saturday night in a hit-and-run accident in Fort Worth, according to police.

The accident occurred around 11:00 p.m. on June 6, in the 1400 block of North Main Street.

Police said Veronica Rivera Cortez, of Fort Worth, was hit by a pickup truck on the street.

The pickup driver fled the scene after the accident.

Cortez was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital, where she remains unconscious and breathing with the help of a machine. She was listed in critical condition.

The involved truck was described as a 2005-2007 dark-colored Chevy Silverado.

Witnesses said the truck had cat-eye headlights and Texas-edition rims.

An investigation into the crash is underway. Anyone with any information is urged to call Fort Worth police.
