Woman Killed in Lufkin Pedestrian Accident on Loop 287

Lufkin, Texas (September 6, 2023) – A woman was killed Monday night in a pedestrian accident in Lufkin, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened around 9:10 p.m., September 4, on the Loop 287 at Denman Avenue overpass, right in front of Cafe Del Rio.

Police said the woman was attempting to cross the road when she walked into the path of a southbound pickup truck and was struck by the vehicle.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been released.

The pickup truck driver was uninjured in the crash.

No other information was available.

The police are investigating the crash.
