Woman Hit by Vehicle, Critically Injured on I-37 in San Antonio

Woman Critically Injured in San Antonio Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 37 at Commerce Street

San Antonio, Texas (September 13, 2020) – A woman was critically injured in a pedestrian accident Friday night in San Antonio, a local news source reported.

The accident was reported around 10:30 p.m., September 11, on Interstate 37 northbound at Commerce Street.

According to the report, the woman jumped over the center retaining wall from the southbound lanes and leaned out in the fast lane to pick up something when she was hit by a pickup truck.

The pickup driver told officers that he attempted to brake, but he didn’t have enough time. He stopped after the accident and called 911.

The woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The pickup driver and his passenger were not intoxicated at the time of the crash.

An investigation is underway.
