Woman Killed Car Crash on Loop 12 in Irving

29-Year-Old Woman Killed in Irving Three-Car Crash on Loop 12 near Northwest Highway

Irving, Texas (October 19, 2020) – A 29-year-old woman was killed in a three-vehicle crash early Sunday morning in Irving, according to police.

The fatal crash happened around 4:45 a.m., October 18, in the southbound lanes of Loop 12 near Northwest Highway.

Police said a vehicle was disabled in the right lane of travel when it was rear-ended by another vehicle. Another driver witnessed the crash and rushed to help pull out the driver of the second vehicle.

A third vehicle crashed into the second vehicle, ejecting the driver of the second vehicle off the highway bridge and onto the Elm Fork Trinity River creek bed below.

The victim, a 29-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been released.

The crash closed all southbound lanes of Loop 12 for several hours.

The police are investigating the crash.
