Woman Killed in 2-Car Crash on SH 146 near Rye

28-Year-Old Woman Killed in Rye Two-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 146

Rye, Texas (July 21, 2022) – According to the Texas DPS, a 28-year-old woman was killed Wednesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash north of Rye, about one mile south of the Polk-Liberty County line.

The fatal crash occurred around 4:22 p.m., July 20, on State Highway 146 N.

DPS said the woman was driving a 2018 Kia and was pulling out of a private drive when she crossed into the southbound lane of travel and collided with a 2018 Dodge Durango.

The woman was killed in the crash. Her name has not been released.

The Durango driver, a Cleveland woman, refused treatment at the scene. Her passengers, a 4-year-old boy, and a 9-year-old girl were uninjured in the crash.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
