Woman Killed in Head-On Crash at Culebra and Rogers Roads in San Antonio

San Antonio, Texas – An elderly woman was killed on Friday in a head-on collision in San Antonio’s West Side, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

The fatal crash happened just before noon, on April 26, at the intersection of Culebra Road and Rogers Road.

Police said a white car was traveling westbound on Culebra when it attempted to make a left turn onto Rogers Road and collided with an eastbound black car. A third vehicle, occupied by a couple and a child, was involved in the crash.

The driver of the white car, an elderly woman, was taken to the hospital where she later died. Her name has not been released.

The driver of the black car was also transported to University Hospital in stable condition.

No one in the third vehicle sustained injuries in the crash.

The police are investigating the crash.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, pedestrian, 18-wheeler, bicycle, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
