Woman Seriously Injured in Waco Pedestrian Accident near Arroyo and Live Oak

Waco, Texas (September 2, 2020) – A woman was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash Saturday night in Waco, according to police.

The accident happened around midnight, August 29, near Arroyo and Live Oak.

Waco police said an officer was patrolling the area when they spotted a Chevrolet Silverado that was traveling at a high rate of speed on North Valley Mills Drive. The officer attempted to pull the driver over near the intersection of Wooded Acres and Cobbs drives, but the driver sped away.

The officer canceled the pursuit in less than a minute after the suspect turned his lights off and headed into a residential neighborhood.

The officer found the suspect’s truck near Arroyo Road and Live Oak Avenue, where it had hit a woman.

The woman was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the truck fled the scene on foot. A passenger in the truck stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

An investigation into the accident is underway.

We wish the injured victim a quick recovery.

“When a person has suffered a grave personal injury in an accident due to someone else’s negligence, the most overwhelming emotion they feel is a sense of injustice. They often ask how such a life-altering event could have happened to them,” attorney Joel A. Gordon said. “The next question usually is, who can help me?” Mr. Gordon added.

A legal advocate can represent an injury victim or the family of a deceased victim. The attorney will file a claim on behalf of the victim and will have the responsibility of citing existing codes, laws or statues which were violated.
