Zachary Harbin Killed in Plano Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 75 at President George Bush Turnpike

Plano, Texas (May 22, 2020) – Two men were killed, and a woman was injured Wednesday afternoon in a traffic collision involving a gravel hauler truck in Plano, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around 4:15 p.m. May 20, in the southbound lanes of Highway 75 at Highway 190 (President George Bush Turnpike).

Police said Zachary Harbin, 32, was driving an SUV and had earlier been involved in a crash on Highway 75, but he fled the scene.

Harbin was speeding westbound on the service road when he drove across the median after a turn in the roadway. The SUV went airborne, crossed the northbound lanes of U.S. 75, and hit a dump truck that was pulling a flatbed trailer loaded with equipment.

Harbin and the dump truck driver, 53-year-old Alvaro Torres, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Harbin’s passenger, a 35-year-old woman, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The Plano Police Department is investigating the crash.

We pass our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Zachary Harbin.
