1 Injured after Big Rig, SUV Collides on FM 2219 in Amarillo

One Hospitalized after Amarillo Crash on FM 2219 near Interstate 27

Amarillo, Texas (July 20, 2023) – One person was hospitalized following a collision between a big rig and an SUV in Amarillo on Monday afternoon, according to Amarillo police.

The wreck occurred at about 12:15 p.m. Monday, July 17 on FM 2219, about a mile west of Interstate 27.

Amarillo police said the big rig struck the passenger side of the SUV.

One patient was taken to Northwest Texas Health System.

No further details were immediately provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
