Ampara Juarez and Sixto Martinez Killed in Keene Two-Vehicle Crash on FM 2280

Keene, Texas (December 6, 2019) – The two people who were killed last week Friday in a head-on crash near Keene has been identified as 35-year-old Ampara Juarez and 50-year-old Sixto Martinez, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash occurred just before 9:30 p.m., November 29, on Farm to Market Road 2280.

Authorities said a white Chevrolet Silverado was traveling southbound while a 2005 Ford Expedition, occupied by Juarez and Martinez was heading northbound.

The Silverado attempted to pass a vehicle in front of it in a no-passing zone and entered into the northbound lane where it crashed head-on into the Ford.

Juarez and Martinez were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Ford driver, 39-year-old Roberto Martinez, was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.

5-year-old Maria Guadalupe Martinez, 19-year-old Maria Martinez and two girls ages 15 and 3, were taken to Fort Worth hospitals for treatment.

A passenger in the Silverado, 44-year-old Leonardo Hernandez, was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the Silverado, 21-year-old Ramiro Davila, fled the scene after the accident.

The crash remains under investigation.
