One Injured in Lubbock Five-Vehicle Crash on Loop 289

Lubbock, Texas (September 16, 2022) – According to the police, one person was injured Thursday evening in a five-vehicle crash in Lubbock.

The crash happened just after 6:00 p.m., September 15, in the 2700 block of West Loop 289.

Police said a vehicle was parked safely on the side of the road while the driver changed a tire. A second driver slammed on their brakes to avoid clipping the parked vehicle and was rear-ended by a third vehicle, causing a chain-reaction crash.

A total of five vehicles were involved in the crash.

One person sustained minor injuries in the crash. 

One of the vehicles had to be towed away from the scene.

No other details were provided.

The police are investigating the crash.
