Tais Alejandra Hinojosa Killed in Rear-End Accident on Interstate 35 in San Antonio

Tais Alejandra Hinojosa ID’d as Teen Killed in Interstate 35 Crash near McCullough Avenue
San Antonio, Texas (May 1, 2019) – The 18-year-old woman who was killed Sunday night in a traffic accident near downtown San Antonio has been identified as Tais Alejandra Hinojosa, according to authorities.
The tragic crash took place at around 7:10 p.m. Sunday, April 28 in the 400 block of Interstate 35 near McCullough Avenue.
Authorities said a man was driving a GMC Sierra on the interstate when he crashed into the rear of a Toyota Yaris that was stopped in traffic.
Hinojosa, who was sitting in the backseat of the Toyota, was transported to a hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries. Two other passengers in the Toyota were also transported to San Antonio Military Medical Center in critical condition.
The driver of the GMC Sierra stopped at the scene and rendered aid to the victims. He was not found to be intoxicated when the accident occurred. He later told authorities he had reached down to the floorboard to grab something moments prior to the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
