One Injured in Smith County Firetruck Crash on Interstate 20 near SH 155

Smith County, Texas (April 25, 2022) – One person was injured Monday morning in a firetruck crash in Smith County, according to the authorities.

The crash happened around 7:55 a.m., on Interstate 20 near State Highway 155.

Authorities said Smith County ESD 2 was responding to a crash with the Winona Fire Department when the fire engine was struck by a passenger vehicle.

The driver of the passenger vehicle was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

No firefighters were injured in the crash.

No other details were provided.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
