Kiana Torres Killed in Head-On Crash on SH 71 in Llano County

Kiana Torres ID’d as Woman Killed in Llano County Crash on SH 71 near City of Llano

Llano County, Texas (May 27, 2023) – The Texas Department of Public Safety has identified the woman who died following a traffic collision involving two vehicles last week on Tuesday in Llano County as Kiana Torres, 21, of San Angelo.

The deadly happened at around 5:38 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, in the 4400 block of SH 71 in Llano County, a few miles west of the city of Llano.

DPS said Torres was driving a 2009 Nissan Altima eastbound on the two-lane highway when he tried to pass a long line of slower moving vehicles.

Torres reportedly failed to complete the pass safely and collided head-on and collided head-on with a westbound 2008 Chevrolet 1500 pickup on SH 71. A fire erupted after the collision.

Torres was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash.
