1 Killed, 1 Injured in Crash on U.S. 80 and CR 309 in Kaufman County

One Killed and One Seriously Injured in Kaufman County Two-Vehicle Crash on U.S. 80 and County Road 309

Kaufman County, Texas (May 27, 2023) – One person was killed, and another was seriously injured Friday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Kaufman County, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash happened around 12:50 p.m., May 26, on U.S. 80 and County Road 309.

Authorities said an 18-wheeler was traveling eastbound on US 80 while a Ford Edge SUV was traveling westbound. The SUV turned in front of the 18-wheeler, resulting in a collision.

One person in the Ford was pronounced dead at the scene. Another person was taken to Baylor University Medical Center with serious injuries.

No other details regarding this crash were available.

The crash remains under investigation.
