One Killed and Another Hurt in Corpus Christi Car Crash on SPID (Highway 358)

Corpus Christi, Texas (January 2, 2018) – A fatal wrong-way collision left one person dead and another injured on New Year’s Day in Corpus Christi, according to police.
The wreck happened shortly after 5 a.m. January 1 on Highway 358 near the Staples exit.
Corpus Christi police said a 28-year-old man was driving a grey SUV the wrong way when he collided with another SUV.
The wrong-way driver was killed in the crash.
The second SUV had four occupants. A 71-year-old Hispanic man got trapped in the wreckage after the crash. He was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
No other injuries were reported from the incident.
The Corpus Christi Police Department is investigating the crash.
