One Killed in Houston Three-Vehicle Crash on Airline Drive at East Parker Road; Brayan Barrera Arrested

Houston, Texas – One person was killed and another was arrested on Sunday following a DWI crash in Houston, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around 6:30 a.m., December 10, in the 6600 block of Airline Drive at East Parker Road.

Police said a white Ford F-150 pickup truck was heading southbound when it collided with a white Chevrolet Impala that was traveling eastbound on East Parker Road. The impact pushed the Impala into a black Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck that was stopped at a red light in the northbound lanes of Airline Drive.

The Impala driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 33-year-old male driver and 37-year-old female passenger of the Silverado were uninjured in the crash.

The Ford driver, 20-year-old Brayan Barrera, showed signs of impairment and was subsequently arrested. Barrera has been charged with driving while intoxicated in Harris County Criminal Court #4.

The police are investigating the crash.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, pedestrian, 18-wheeler, bicycle, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
