Linda Sandoval and Travis Wheeler Among Three Killed in Lea County Car Crash on State Road 18

Lea County, Texas (August 17, 2019) – Three people were killed in a head-on collision Thursday night in Lea County, according to the New Mexico State Police.

The crash was reported around 10:45 p.m. August 15, on State Road 18 between Eunice and Hobbs.

Police said a Nissan Altima was heading the wrong way in the southbound lanes when it crashed head-on into another Nissan Altima driven by Linda Sandoval.

Sandoval, Travis Wheeler, and an unidentified passenger were all killed in the crash.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
