Raul Luna ID’d as Motorcyclist Killed in Donna Crash on FM 493 and Atlanta Street

Donna, Texas (April 18, 2023) – The Texas Department of Public Safety has identified the motorcyclist who died following a traffic collision Monday evening in Donna as Raul Osiel Luna, 19, of Donna.

The fatal crash happened at around 7:00 p.m. Monday, April 17, on FM 493 and Atlanta Street.

According to the DPS, a black Ford F150 was heading northbound on FM 493 when a red 2005 Harley Davidson Sportster, driven by Luna, made a wide-right turn onto FM 493 northbound lane, where he collided head-on with the Ford.

The Ford hit a utility pole and overturned while trying to avoid hitting the motorcycle.

Lunaas was thrown off the bike upon the impact.

Luna was taken to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the pickup sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital.

Further details regarding the collision were immediately provided.

The crash remains under investigation by the DPS.
