Juvenile Killed in Gun Barrel City Pedestrian Accident on South Gun Barrel Lane near Stillwater Street; Casey Jeffrey Arrested

Gun Barrel City, Texas (July 28, 2022) – A male juvenile was killed early Wednesday morning in a hit-and-run accident in Gun Barrel City, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened around 2:12 a.m., July 27, on South Gun Barrel Lane near Stillwater Street.

Police said the juvenile was struck by a vehicle that then fled the scene.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

The suspect vehicle was located at an address on Harmon Road. Two suspects, Casey Dylan Jeffrey, 30, and Brooke Leann South, 30, were arrested and taken into custody.

Jeffrey, who was driving the vehicle, was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. He was booked into the Henderson County Jail and charged with intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle.

The police are investigating the crash.
