1 Killed in Fiery Crash on FM 624 in Jim Wells County

One Killed in Jim Wells County Crash on FM 624 near U.S. Highway 282

Jim Wells County, Texas (November 21, 2022) – One person was killed in a fiery traffic accident in Jim Wells County on Sunday evening, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The deadly crash occurred at around 6:44 p.m. Sunday, November 20 on FM 624, just east of U.S. Highway 282.

DPS said a black Ford F-150 was heading eastbound on FM 624 when, for an unknown reason, it drifted into the opposite lane and collided head-on with an oncoming Volvo truck tractor semi-trailer.

The Ford F-150 burst into flames as a result of the crash.

The driver of the F-150 was burned beyond recognition because of the fire. The identity of the victim has not been disclosed pending notification of the family.

No additional information about the accident was provided.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
