1 Killed, 5 Injured in Two-Car Crash on FM 1423 in Hidalgo County

One Killed and Five Injured in Hidalgo County Two-Vehicle Crash on FM 1423

Hidalgo County, Texas (November 29, 2021) – One person was killed, and five others were injured early Sunday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Hidalgo County, according to Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 12:17 a.m., November 28, on FM 1423.

DPS said a Ford Taurus was traveling northbound on the highway when the driver lost control of the vehicle, skidded into the southbound lanes, and collided with a southbound Chevrolet Malibu occupied by five people.

The Ford driver, a male, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

All the occupants of the Chevrolet were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
